BARANOSKI, Sharon   Sharon Baranoski MSN, RN, CWCN, APN, FAAN  Wound Care Dynamics  Shorewood, IL Sharon Baranoski is a master’s-prepared advanced practice nurse with 30-plus years of experience in nursing, nursing management, and wound care. She has experience in acute care, home care, acute rehab and nursing home consultation. She received her BSN and MSN from Lewis University.   Baranoski, a well-known lecturer, consultant, author and educator on various nursing and wound care issues, is co-editor of the textbook Wound Care Essentials: Practice Principles. She has authored numerous book chapters and published more than 100 nursing articles.   A fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, Baranoski served as president of the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel in the early 2000s. She was recognized for her work by the same organization in 2009 and received the prestigious Kosiak Award.    She has actively participated in numerous AHRQ and CMS projects as an advisor. Ayello, PhD, RN, APRN, BC, CWOCN, FAPWCA, FAAN, is a Faculty member at Excelsior College School of Nursing, Albany New York and Senior Adviser, the John A Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing, New York, New York. Dr. Ayello is the Editor for the World Council of Enterostomal Therapists (WCET) Journal. Her current research focus is on assessment, education, and treatment of pressure ulcers. Dr. Ayello has served in many leadership positions in several wound care organizations including Board of Directors and 1999 President of the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPUAP). She served as the Senior Associate Editor for the Journal, Advances in Wound Care, and Associate Editor for the NPUAP monograph Pressure Ulcers in America: Prediction, Incidence, and Implications for the Future. Presently the Chair of the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Society (WOCN) Accreditation Committee, she is also an editorial advisory board member for the journal Nursing. Dr. Ayello is co-author/editor of the book “Wound Care Essentials: Practice Principles”. Dr. Ayello earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Hunter College-Bellevue School of Nursing of the City University of New York, New York, New York, a Master of Science in Nursing from Adelphi University, Garden City New York, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Theory and Research from New York University, New York. She is board certified as a wound, ostomy and continence nurse and as a clinical nurse specialist in medical-surgical nursing, a diplomat in the American Professional Wound Care Association, and a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing.
